By Ayatullah Shaikh Muhammad Husayn Kashif al-Ghita Introduction Late Ayatullah Shaikh Muuammad Husayn Kashif al-Ghita is considered as one among the leading Muslims scholars. He was simultaneously skilled in Fiqh (jurisprudence), Arabic literature, philosophy, Hikmah (wisdom), Tafsir (exegesis) and Irfan (gnosticism) and was the first jurist who introduced comparative study of Fiqh at Hawza Ilmiyya in Najaf, Iraq. He penned several books including Asl al-Shia wa usuluha, Asl al-Shia wa Sunnah, Al-Ayat al-bayyinat, Tahrir al-majala, Al-Din wa l-Islam, Ayn al-Mizan, Al-Mawakib al-Husayniyya, Manasik Haj, Wajiza al-ahkam and Al-Urwa al-wuthqa. Aytullah Kashif al-Ghita was an ardent supporter of Muslim unity and used his writings, sermons and research papers to familiarize the nobles and the general masses of bringing different Muslim sects close to one another. The article under review is a reflection of the same belief and feeling. It has to be kept in mind while reading this paper that it was written almost 40 years earlier, but several points raised in it indicate that the situation is same as it was then. This piece of writing was selected by Nisar Ali Tirmzi to be published for the respected readers of the Monthly Payam.
